Rugby for all

We ensure that Rugby is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, background.

We do this through a number of Rugby projects designed to reach those who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to take part in our wonderful sport.

Project 11

Our Club has been running a focused after-school programme called Project 11, to bring more years 4/5/6 girls into tag rugby. Chris Mepham and Nikki Owers, are the brains behind the initiative, which has gone from strength to strength since March 2022.

Project 11 operates in 9 primary schools where we are currently offering rugby provision. On average, we have 25-50 girls taking part in every one of those schools! They, in turn, will feed the growth of our Shelford Girls' Rugby Programme.

Whether you're a school or an individual and you'd like to find out more, contact our U12 Girls Team Manager, Charlene Whalley, below.

Schools outreach

Working in schools allows us to share the game of rugby with young people who might not otherwise get a chance to play.

We have worked with local schools offering relaxed and fun sessions to engage kids in the game.

If your school would like to hear more, please contact us:
